every warrior has a story.

In 2025, our founder’s father, Adolfo O’Con, lost his courageous battle with stage IV colorectal cancer.

For more than 25 years, Adolfo dedicated his life to caring for others as a healthcare professional. Throughout his career, he served countless patients with compassion, kindness, and unwavering dedication. When he became the patient, he faced his own diagnosis with the same strength and courage that had defined his life.

Determined to help others, Adolfo began, The Warriors Journey: Life After Diagnosis, a blog where he documented his experience with colorectal cancer. Through honest reflections, updates, and word of encouragement, he hoped to raise awareness about the importance of early detection while reminding others facing cancer that they were not alone. His willingness to share both the victories and the hardships inspired family, friends, and even strangers.

The name The Warriors Journey Foundation was born from that blog and the legacy he created. What began as one man’s story has grown into a mission to support countless other walking similar paths.

Throughout his journey, our family experienced not only the incredible compassion of healthcare professionals but also the emotional, physical, and financial challenges that so many families face after a cancer diagnosis.

Rather than allowing grief to have the final word, we chose to transform that loss into legacy and purpose.

Today, The Warriors Journey Foundation is committed to providing hope, practical support, education, and encouragement to individuals and families affected by colorectal cancer while investing in the next generation of compassionate nurses through scholarship opportunities.

Every event we host, every family we support, and every scholarship we award honors Adolfo’s legacy and the countless warriors who continue to fight with courage each day.

What’s your story?

Every Journey Matters.

Behind every diagnosis is a person.

A family.

A caregiver.

A survivor.

A loved one remembered.

At The Warriors Journey Foundation, we believe that every warrior has a story worth sharing. Whether your journey has been marked by hope, heartbreak, healing, or remembrance, your story has the power to encourage someone else who may be walking a similar path.

We invite you to share your experience with us. With your permission, we may feature your story to help inspire, educate, and remind others that they are never alone.
